packing sucks

i'm back at school, all unpacked, and fighting a losing battle against curling up in my bed with catching fire and reading for the rest of the night.  however, i haven't been on in a bit, so i thought i'd come back.

i really do love being at school.  i just wish there was a way to skip the packing and unpacking, because that is easily my least favorite part.  though i really do enjoy the decorating aspect.  thats always fun for me.  this year i'm living in the basement of my building, and i arrived to discover that they carpeted our rooms!  it made me quite joyous.  i also discovered that my room is approximately 2 ft taller than ay of my previous rooms, and it has this great echo effect when we're loud or laughing.

other than my general i-don't-want-to-go-to-class-or-wake-up-early feelings, i'm actually quite happy to be here.  though i do really miss my best friend, off in spain as she is.  but we are in the process of setting up skype dates, so i'm dealing quite well, thank you.

anyway, i'm off to be lame and ruin my eyes some more.  i've actually been putting this off, so that i could read as much of it at once.  and since tomorrow is basically my free day, it seems like the perfect time to begin.  heck, with all this free time, i may even finish it.  though i won't be starting mockingjay until friday [at the earliest] so i can have time to just sit and savor like i plan on doing with catching fire.

annd i'm off!

no voice, walnuts, and cute boots. oh my!

i have no voice.  which is not to say that i blew out my voice screaming or singing or being loud in some way.  no.  it just disappeared.  my mom called me and then i tried to reply and all of a sudden just couldn't.  and it's really annoying me.

well, so far i have spent my day working on a bag i'm making from old t-shirts.  i'm nearly done, and once i finish hear, i will be completely done.  excitement.

i also had the joy of watching the dick van dyke show, and the only reason i mention this is because it was the classic walnut episode.  easily my favorite episode of that show, and one of my favorite classic television moments.

otherwise i enjoyed watching doctor who while i worked away.  todays marathon included rose's farewell at bad wolf bay.  i can't really explain why, but that scene makes me emotional every time.  i guess it's because of how emotionally charged it is.  the fact that its taken the entire last two seasons for them to admit their feelings and then to have it cutoff just strikes me as such a sad thing.

i'm watching the cma's at the moment, and i really want carry underwood's shoes.  they're these fabulous cowboy boots, but with like a 3in heel.  so fabulous, and boy is she rocking them.  so cute.

to begin an official countdown, i leave for school in t-minus 5 days.  i'm really excited, i miss everyone so much.  only downside is my best friend is doing study abroad, FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR!  so sad.  first she's in spain, then france.  i already miss her.  this is going to get very very bad.

okay, i've procrastinated finishing my bag for long enough now, so yeah.  the end and all that jazz.

23 books and counting...

i did very little today.

i worked on a bag i'm making from old t-shirts.  i watched the rachel zoe project, doctor who, warehouse 13, covert affairs, and now avatar: the last airbender.  i got a free gyros for free gyros day.  and i absolutely did not clean or pack my room for school, at all.

i briefly want to talk about avatar: the last airbender.  it was a cartoon on nick from about 2006-2008.  i got into it this past summer, and fell in love.  it's fabulous, combining fantasy, wonderful characters, and a unique story line.  yes, there was a movie about it this past summer, and while i haven't actually seen it, i've heard enough to know that its not a great representation of the show.  i just want to say that if you are intrigued, i would definitely recommend watching it.  okay, i'm done.

on a completely different note, i must say how i love doctor horrible's sing along blog.  one of my facebook friends just posted lyrics to one of the songs, and i proved my nerdiness and awesomeness by completing the next line.  a boo-yah.

now that its nearly midnight, i'm exhausted [from what, i have no idea] and i'm going to wind down even more and read the mists of avalon, because i have less than 200 pages left.  that and i've been reading it since i got home in may.  which is a reeeaaalllllly long time to read a book.  especially for me, who has read some 20 books in that same period of time.
